Is a native speaker in my group?
No. The native British teacher organises the whole event, explains the activities and
supports from the main room, but the breakout rooms are just for learners.
What level do I need?
BIG clubs are for pre-Intermediate (A2+) to Advanced (C1). We try to group people
by similar level. If a room feels too easy or too difficult, you can ask to move.
Do I need to be on camera?
Cameras are optional. Many learners start without video and turn it on later if they feel comfortable.
Do I get the materials?
Yes. Topics, questions and instructions are shown on screen and shared
in the chat so your group can always see what to do next.
What if everyone is shy?
The activities are designed to help: turn-taking, role cards, “question races” and more.
There is always a simple next step to keep you talking.
How do I join the next club?
Click “Join the BIG club”, pick a date and enter your email. We’ll send you the Zoom link
and a reminder before the event starts.
If I don't like it, can I leave?
Of course! If this type of speaking club isn’t your cup of tea, you are free to leave anytime you like.
Can I change rooms?
If you don’t feel comfortable with the people in your room, just send the host a message and they’ll move you to a different room.
Can I be in the same room as my friend?
Rooms are assigned randomly. You might end up with your friend — or you might not. But try speaking to new people!
It’s a great way to make international friends and practise real English.
