We collect only the information needed to run our speaking clubs, courses and speaking-partner service. We do not sell your personal information.

Speaking-club registrations

When you register for a speaking club, we collect your name, country and email address. We use this information to contact you about the club you signed up for. Only the site administrator can see these details.

We keep speaking-club registration details while that club is open, and delete them within 24 hours after the club has ended.

My OESC member accounts

When you create or access a My OESC account, we store your name, email address, country and English level. We also store the date you accepted this privacy policy, your speaking-club bookings and attendance, course interests, saved Wordbook phrases and Passport awards.

You may optionally add your age, gender, biography and interests. These optional profile details are shown only when you enable your member profile. Visible profiles can be opened only by signed-in members connected to the same speaking club. People who register without creating a profile are shown only by name and country.

My OESC account information and speaking history are kept while your account remains active so that the dashboard can provide your history and member features. You can ask us to delete or disable your account at any time.

Member messages, reports and feedback

If you enable member messaging, members connected to the same speaking club can send you private messages. Messages to and from the OESC Team, member reports, appeals and feedback are stored so that conversations can be delivered, safety concerns can be investigated and administrative decisions can be recorded.

You can disable member-to-member messaging in your profile. Blocking and reporting tools are provided for member safety. Site administrators can review reported messages and account activity when needed to operate and protect the service.

Magic links, sessions and app notifications

My OESC uses one-time email magic links instead of passwords. Magic-link tokens and remembered-session identifiers are stored securely in hashed form. A remembered login normally lasts for up to 30 days unless you sign out or clear your browser data.

If you install My OESC and enable notifications, we store a device push-subscription address, encrypted device keys and your notification preferences. Notifications may include club titles, reminder times, message previews, Passport awards and account decisions. The device notification provider receives the information needed to deliver that notification.

You can change notification choices in your My OESC profile or disable notifications through your phone or browser settings.

Speaking partner

If you create a speaking-partner profile, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, age, location, English level, profile description and chosen contact details. Parts of your profile and the contact details you choose to share are visible to other people using the speaking-partner service, so they can contact you.

Speaking-partner information is kept for up to 90 days, unless you ask us to remove it sooner.

Self-run courses and course interest

If you sign up for a code for a self-run course, we keep your details until 24 hours after the course ends.

If you register your interest in a course, we keep your details until the course is ready and then delete them within 24 hours after that course finishes.

Cookies and advertising

We use Google advertising services. Where required, visitors are shown a cookie and advertising-consent notice. You can use that notice to manage your choices.

Anonymous site-usage information

We use our own cookie-free traffic measurement to understand which pages are useful and where visitors generally come from. It records the page visited, time, referring website, broad device type and country code when our hosting provider supplies one. We do not store full IP addresses for analytics.

Visitor numbers are estimated using an anonymous identifier that changes every week. Raw traffic events are deleted after 35 days and are visible only to the site administrator.

Live visitor chat

While you are actively using the site, the administrator may see the page you are viewing, your broad device type and country code when available, and may invite you to an anonymous live chat. No chat window appears unless the administrator sends the first message.

Chat messages are kept for up to seven days. Live-presence records are removed after one day. The chat does not use an additional cookie and does not reveal your name or email address unless you choose to type that information in a message.
